Day 17 - Salvador

On the 23rd of January 2017, we went to the city of Salvador. We left the hotel at 8 o'clock and did a bus tour around some monuments in Salvador. Our first stop was at a church in Salvador, which has a wall in front with thousands of little coloured bands. Everybody took a lot of pictures and a lot of people bought bundles of those coloured bands. After that, we went to the Mercado Municipal of Salvador which was very nice to see. Before lunch we visited another big church in the old innercity of Salvador. This church was one of the biggest and most famous churches of Salvador and its completely in gold from the inside and with a lot of ornaments. When we left the church, we went directly to the restaurant where we had lunch. They had some specific plates from Bahia there which probably tasted very good. After lunch we had freetime in the innercity until 16:45. It was very nice to walk the streets without someone telling you to hurry up. Then we went back to the hotel and had time to prepare the presentations for the Talent Show. The Talent Show was pretty fun and the guys from Taiwan really rocked it and they deserved to win it.

Day 14 - Olinda / Recife

----------------------------------------------------------------
Leaving the city of Natal towards Olinda, we drove for a few hours. It's a small city full of color, rising streets and lovely views. We did a guided tour and discovered the different churches and the cathedral. This city is also known for her carnaval which is probably one of the best of all Brazil; we even saw a dance demonstration and some of the decorations used during the carnaval. It's a really funny place, and the heart of Olinda is gorgeous with all the small shops and decoration-like interacting things which give you a bunch of very funny pictures.
We ate all together and finally drove as far as Recife, where we kept on discovering the streets of Brazil, and the friendly atmosphere standing in its center. After this really long walking day, we went to a shopping mall, which gave us our "jegue porreta" of the day, Fifi for ordering a Lalala burger, buying 3 pairs of panties, after being sure they weren't too light or too dark nor too expansive- because he doesn't have Money - and forgetting his bank card in there... It was a really cool day.

Day 13 - Natal, buggies and Luau

Good day, today in this blog I'm gonna tell you about the events that happened on Wednesday.
Like every day, we wake up early, around the eight o'clock in the morning and we had our breakfast.
The day started with our group photo in the boulevard of the beach. Then we were divided into two groups: half went on a buggy ride and the other half went to the pool and beach.
On the ride on the buggy we traveled part at the city of Natal. Then we were taken to Xtremoz: there are huge dunes, but fortunately these cars are made for this; we took the greatest photos of the entire city. We also slip in a dune with the sandboards, that was soooo cool. 
Shortly after noon we had our lunch and free time to be in the restaurant pool or go to the beach; some have done henna tattoos.
In the afternoon, we visited the Natal center shopping mal. In the late of the afternoon, we went to a restaurant for dinner, for the first time in a group we were only girls in a bus and  the other bus, only for boys. When the girls arrived at the restaurant, we came across the surprise that the boys were waiting for us in a kind of welcome, it was very cute.
After dinner, we were waiting for the party, the girls waited in the restaurant while the guys went ahead, it was a bit strange! Then it was time to leave.
Minutes later, we arrived at the beach boulevard and walked part of it as the time we sang and had fun, we arrived at the party and the boys surprised us with music, roses and dancing in our honor.❤
We closed the night; some wet because some people had gotten to the beach, others tired to dance, but everyone had fun and we were very happy.

Day 12 - Natal

So today we started the day with a tour around the city of Natal. The tour ended at the biggest cashew tree in the world, the tree grows to the side and is about as big as a city block. Right outside there is a public market where we could try cashew juice and different types of cashews. There are also lots of places to eat and buy souvenirs. Lunch we ate for ourselves close to the market and then later we met up to go to a beach, where we had stand up paddle classes. After that went back to the hotel and had some free time before we headed out for dinner, which was at a pizzaria, where we ate many different kinds of pizzas, like chocolate-banana pizza. Back in the hotel we had our daily meeting and for the first time of the trip a girl (Kendra) was elected to the fool of the day, the "jegue porreta".

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 11 - Maceió / Natal

Today we said goodbye to Maceió with a nice breakfast in front of the pool. We met the boys, who were staying in another hotel, and head off to Natal.
After more than one week, we mixed the busses to make sure all the 84 exchange students get along.
The road trip lasted about 10 hours and we had fun watching movies and the DVD from 2016 South American Adventure.
After we checked in Natal we went to a Chinese restaurant.
Last but not least, we finished our day with our daily meeting and Jegue Porreta election.
We are anxious for tomorrow, we will have stand up paddle classes.
